How Many Days Is My Period Supposed To Last?

Your period can go on for 3 to 5 days. If this is not your case, do not panic yet. This is because some people’s periods last as few as 2 days and for some as many as 7 to 8 days. However, if you're bleeding more than 7 days in a row, you should speak to your doctor.

  1. Your period becomes irregular after it’s been steady and predictable for a long time.
  2. Your periods suddenly stop for 90 days or more and you aren’t pregnant.
  3. You think you may be pregnant.
  4. Your period lasts for more than eight days.
  5. You bleed much more heavily than usual.
  6. You soak through more than one tampon or pad every two hours.
  7. You suddenly begin spotting.
  8. You develop severe pain during your period.
  9. Your periods are more than 35 days apart, or less than 21 days apart.
